The 2021 vintage started off under drought conditions with very little rain. This led to a lower yield of grapes requiring less pruning and green harvest. A smooth and fairly uneventful Summer gave us small berries packed full of flavor and great structure. This should be a great vintage for those looking to lay the wines down a little longer.

The 2021 Conn Creek Stags Leap District Cabernet offers one of the brightest bouquets in the winery's portfolio for the vintage, leading with super aromatic cast iron minerality, fragrant sagebrush, dried rose petals, and Luxardo Cherries. Wonderfully plump blackberry and black currant fruits are lifted by crunchy cherry fruit, crisp acidity, and elongated, satiny tannins. A polished Cabernet that checks all the boxes through its extended dark-fruit, chocolate, and mineral-rich finish. Founded in 1973, Conn Creek Winery is situated on the eastern side of Napa Valley, just off the Silverado Trail. Best known for its Bordeaux-styled wines, Elizabeth DeLouise-Gant has been the winemaker since 2017. Previously, she worked at Beaulieu Vineyard, Tamber Bey, and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars
