TASTING NOTES

"Vibrant black cherry notes meld with hints of baking spice and graphite. Broad tannins fill the mouth and lead to a long finish."  — Elizabeth DeLouise-Gant, Winemaker

VINEYARDS & VINTAGE

2017 started out with an amazing amount of winter rains, something we haven’t seen in years. This was followed by a cooler, more mild spring. Harvest for some of our fruit sped up considerably after back-to-back heat events in late August and early September. The Cabernet Sauvignon selected for this blend was harvested in late September and October. Overall crop size in 2017 was on the lighter side.

Battuello Vineyard is a fourth-generation, family-run vineyard in St. Helena. The current patriarch (Craig) and his sons (Dave and Mark) meticulously farm the vineyard. Known for an impeccable farming style, each block is farmed individually.
